WTI Crude Oil

West Texas Intermediate - WTI, also known as Texas Light Sweet, is a type of oil used for valuation of oil and derivatives derived from it on the New York Mercantile Exchange - NYMEX.

Other types of oil are known Brent, the OPEC Reference Basket and Dubai crude.

WTI oil is light crude, lighter than Brent crude, contains about 0.24% sulfur. Processes in refineries in the United States, primarily in the Midwest and in areas around the Gulf of Mexico.

Typical differences in the price per barrel is about $ 1 more than Brent crude and $ 2 more than OPEC Basket.
