Converting units of volume

The calculator converts standard units of volume to a precision of up to two decimal points:

  • millimeters cubed (mm3),
  • centimeters cubed(cm3) / milliliters (ml),
  • centiliters (cl),
  • deciliters (dl),
  • decimeters cubed (dm3) / liters (l),
  • hectoliters (he)
  • meters cubed (m3)

Conversion therefore work from for example decimeters cubed (or liters) to millimeters cubed, centiliters to hectoliters or meters cubed to deciliters.

Imperial units of volume (bushels, gallons, ...)

Converting of units of volume

You need to input these three values into the calculator:

  1. Volume that you want to convert

  2. The unit from which you want to convert

  3. The unit to which you want to convert

note. 1cm 3 = 1ml a 1dm 3 = 1l

 Explanation of conversions

In the table you can see how the individual unit conversions work.

From every standard unit to the nearest smaller and larger unit.

Converting units of volume questions and answers

  • How does the metric mass system work?

The metric mass system is based on magnitude so the difference between centimeters cubed, meters cubed and kilometers cubed is some power of 10.

  • What is the conversion f cubic centimeters to milliliters?

1 cubic centimeters is 1 millimeter.
